Il Barbiere di Siviglia (The Barber of Seville) is an opera in two acts by Gioachino Rossini.
Rossini’s most popular opera is playing at the Met 200 years after its premiere in Rome. Though the premeiere was disastrous, already at its second performance, Il Barbiere had become a roaring success.
Il Barbiere di Siviglia is sung in Italian with Met titles in English, German, Italian and Spanish.
